| January 4th, 2003- I found out about my pregnancy from a home pregnancy test while I was taking a weekend vacation with my husband up at my dad's cabin. We drove to Big Bear to buy a second test to confirm it. Thant night I used up the whole battery in Ben's cell phone, calling people with the news. |
| January 7th, 2003- I had an ultrasound to check if it was an ectopic pregnancy, since I was having abdominal pain. It was too early to see anything. |
| January 10th, 2003- I went shopping with my friend Elizabeth (she had just found out she's pregnant too and due only a couple of weeks before me). I bought some books for the baby. |
| January 11th, 2003- Nauseous every day from morning sickness. |
| January 14th, 2003- My hip (which has hurt occasionally for about 5 years) began to hurt much worse than ever before. |
| January 16th, 2003- Still losing weight. Haven't started gaining any weight yet. I'm often nauseous from morning sickness. I'm looking forward to the baby. |
| January 19th, 2003- I went to the doctor for my hip pain, and he said it's bursitis. There's not much I can do about it while I'm pregnant. |
| January 25th, 2003- I could feel my growing uterus for the first time, when I layed on my stomach. It felt like a football in my abdomen. |
| January 24th, 2003- I had another ultrasound and this time I could see the baby. It was in a normal spot in the uterus, and I could see it's heart beat. I got a photo from it. |

| February 5th, 2003- I have cravings for cold foods- salad, fruit (oranges), cold sandwiches, and pickles. I can't eat Chinese food anymore. |
| February 3rd, 2003- I'm beginning to look pregnant, but other people wouldn't be able to notice for awhile. I notice a difference though. |
| February 28th, 2003- My first appointment with Dr. Christie, the doctor who will deliver my baby. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It sounded like a horse galloping. March 10th, 2003- My morning sickness is completely gone. March 11th, 2003- I think I felt the baby move for the first time. March 20th, 2003- Today was the first time a stranger (who didn't know I'm pregnant) was able to tell I'm pregnant. April 4th, 2003- I had an ultrasound. I got to see the baby's head, spine, arms, and legs. It was too early to know the gender yet though. |

| April 13th, 2003- I feel the baby move about 5 times a day now. April 18th, 2003- I had an ultrasound. It's a girl! Her name will be Lily Judith Bhattacharyya. Ben was disappointed when I told him, because he wanted a boy. April 26th, 2003- I feel Lily move about 10-15 times a day. May 10th, 2003- I built the crib for Lily today. My belly button has almost disappeared because of my huge belly. May 22, 2003- I get leg cramps every night and they're extremely painful. I also still have the hip pain everyday. May 25, 2003- This morning, Ben got to feel Lily kick for the first time. |
