My name is Tracy Howard. I'm married with 3 kids, I am the voter registrar for the City of Radford VA.
I'm an avid hunter and fisherman, and a Virginia Hunter education instructor with more than 150 hours of teaching time.
Needless to say I love the outdoors and I have had several big adventures outdoors this year!
This web page is designed to document my recent adventures as an ESPN outdoor show contestant.
In the fall of 2004 I was watching ESPN 2 when "Ultimate Outdoors with Wayne Pearson" came on. During a break a contest was advertised. Wayne asked, "Are you the Ultimate Outdoorsman?"
"Heck yeah", I thought and immediately went to the Outfitters Association of America website, oaoa.net and entered.
A couple of weeks later I was contacted by W.P. Productions and asked to submit a short video tape of myself doing something outdoors related. That tape was 9 minutes long and consisted of a muzzleloading deer hunt, a muzzleloading demonstration and myself as a talking head. I thought to myself, "They'll see this and I'll never hear from them again."
A couple of weeks passed with no word and I gave up on being selected for the "Ultimate Outdoorsman Search 2005". Until I received a phone call in early December. It was Wayne Pearson himself, congratulating me on being selected. He asked if I would like to go duck hunting. I had won an all expense paid trip to Angleton Texas to 2 Bayous hunting Lodge. I had no idea that that was only the beginning
