I'm glad I met you, you're a great competitor and a fine person, I know you'll go far.
If you've made it this far into my little adventure, You know that this started for me back in November of 2004. The "Ultimate Outdoorsman Search 2005" has been a consuming part of my life for months. I've got to say that EVERYONE that I met, talked to or had any dealings with in anyway through W.P. Productions and The "Ultimate Outdoors with Wayne Pearson" has been absolutely great. These trips are something that I could never have afforded on my own. After all I'm just a civil servant. I genuinely appreciate BassPro shops, Leatherman, Mag-Lite and the Southern Company and Southern-Link Wireless for their kind support of this competition. None of this would have been possible without their belief that it could work.
Most of all I appreciate Wayne Pearson for making it all come together. He and his production crew are super at what they do and they have the ability to take a greenhorn and make him look like a pro.

How do you sum up these past few months? All sorts of adjectives come to mind, wonderful, fulfilling, fun and REALLY COOL! I have to admit I was pretty bummed by the loss. But you know when the verdict was handed down, I was just as happy for my friend Jessica as I was hurt for me. So I realize that I've made some great friends, been involved in some incredible adventures, I've got some really good stories to pass on and I ended up being the first runner-up ahead of 40,000 wanna be's. That's pretty darn good, huh?
