California Speed Ratings!

It's going to take me a while to get any sort of detailed account of my California adventure up here; I've got a ton of notes to sift through. Besides, I want to get my Christmas Special up here first. Since I know everyone's curious, here's a very ultra-condensed report to tide you over until January.

SAN FRANSISCO AREA
* - Fisherman's Warf: Nice; reminded me of Portland, ME, but with less guano and less freaks (well, friendlier freaks);
* - Ghiradelli Square: Bit too much like Fanuel Hall back home, but still pretty;
* - Pier 39: F**king insane; beautiful carousel though;
* - Muir Woods Redwood Preserve: Absolutely breathtaking; not to be missed!
* - Frisco Overall: Really nice;

STUFF IN-BETWEEN SAN FRANSISCO AND THE LOS ANGELES AREA
* - Rt 1 Coast Road: A+++++ for the view. As for the sh*t-your-pants scary sensation of nearly driving off the edge of the world, well...;
* - Big Sur: One of the prettiest seashores I've ever seen;
* - Hearst Castle: Very nice; didn't get to see much of it though as tours were closed; gift shop was a riot;

LOS ANGELES AREA
* - Hollywood: Cool! Really, really, really cool;
* - Page Museum and LaBrea Tar Pits: Also really, really cool (for different reasons); don't miss this;
* - Disneyland: Great fun; similar sections in Florida park are bigger and have more stuff, but this is still a classic; all decorated for the holidays (very crowded, too, but worth it); don't miss it;
* - Universal Studios: Studio tour is not to be missed, best part of the studio; Florida park is better as a theme park, but the rides here are still really good; layout of Hollywood park on the other hand, including that f**king insane CityWalk thing, is a nightmare;
* - Venice Beach and Santa Monica: Lovely; not to be missed; lots of authentic Cali local color to be seen here (well, maybe not THAT authentic, but remember, I live in the Northeast and there's snow on the ground as I type this; not a surfer to be seen 'round here);
* - LA Area Overall: Really cool; lots of things to see and do here .
