MEL KENYON: (The King of Midgets) is one of my favorite all time drivers. When someone suggested that I do a feature on him, I asked myself why I hadn't done it before. This little feature doesn't do the man justice, but I gave it a shot. I have some photos I have taken and the stats. Click below to check it out. I would like to give a big THANKS to Tom Eidemiller for sending me the stats. CLICK HERE! |
NAMARS THURSDAY NIGHT LIGHTNING is NAMARS weekly show(This is from the 2001 season). The Indianapolis Speedrome is the ideal place for this. It's great family fun! NAMARS Bills itself as"another road to Indy", and it keeps that promise with former Drivers from Indy and future one's. My Pit reporter(my Daughter Amy) and I were there June 28th. It was an historic night. Billy Wease took the feature win and became the youngest driver(14) ever to win a full size Midget feature. NAMARS also runs Kenyon Cars there. Kenyon Cars are Midgets with 1200cc engines and starters. We had a blast there. Click below to check out the pictures! 1 2 3 KENYON CARS |

The 2001 edition of the RUMBLE IN THE EXPO took place on December 28th and 29th. Thats an indoor midget race in the expo hall in the Coliseum in Ft. Wayne Indiana. I loved the new format of features on both days. It made for great excitement on both days. The Friday National Midget feature was won by Bobby East. The Saturday feature was won by NASCAR's Tony Stewart. Both 75 lap features were an endurance tests for cars. Mel Kenyon crashed twice and finished third on Saturday(He also won a heat race and a "B" Main during the weekend). Mel is always fun to watch. The RUMBLE also has Kenyon cars, Legends cars, Outlaw Winged Midgets, Quarter Midgets and 6 classes of Karts. I have ALOT of pictures this year. I cover all the classes and I have some THRILLS and SPILLS photo's. Check them all out. Click below. The NAMARS 500 took place May 23rd(2002). Bobby East was on the pole. This exciting race starts with 33 cars lined up three wide at the Indianapolis Speedrome. It was clean race considering all the traffic that goes with 33 cars. Todd Beach and Teddy Beach shared the win. Todd drove the first 250 laps and Teddy drove the last 250. They lapped the field twice. Todd also won the fifty lap Kenyon Car feature. CLICK ON THE NUMBERS FOR THE PICS. 1 2 3 Kenyon Cars |
