August 2003 Eventhough Kamala Dissanayake was assigned to carryout the work of the Garment Shop, it has failed. Two other villagers - Chintha and Rishika were appointed to carryout the work of cutting and stiching and they will be remunerated on a per piece basis of the work done. Manual Singer sewing machine donated by Ven. B.Saranankara, priest in Malaysia Avillage land earmarked for the proposed restaurant project and a village committee appointed to clear the land and obtain timber for construction. Prishantha Pinto, staff member has arranged a scholarship scheme for all students in the Advance Level classes. The same will be extended to A/L students at the Telulla Maha Vidyalaya - village temple priest was requested to inform the school authorities. Items donated by Ven. B. Saranankara, priest in Malaysia : * An English manual type writer to the temple * School uniform material, bags and biscuits for vhildren * Two Computers for the computer school. September 2003 Garment project - Udulawathi, Jaslin nona and Masi nona volunteered to sell the finished products. Villager Samararatne was appointed to construct the proposed retaurant. Work ecpected to be completed by end of October 2003. A computer donated by Mr. Rohitha Hiripitiya was installed at the school. Computer school will enrol students outside the village in October, thereby generating income for the project. Rs. 500/= paid to AL student thanuja Gayani being the scholarship arranged by P. Pinto. This will be a monthly payment. |
