| We, at the Accounts Dept of Trans Asia Hotel have initiated the above project to help the needy people of Deiyangala, a village in Tanamalwila in the Monaragala District. Details of the project is as follows : . Project commenced - September 2001 · Location - Deiyangala – Tanamalwila in the Monaragala District · Number of families - 34 · No.of people - 153 · No.of adults (over 22 yrs) - 65 · No.of young adults between 17 and 22 yrs - 17 · No.of children under 17 yrs - 71 Immediate needs of the villagers : 1] Lack of water 2] Proper schooling facilities for children 3] Suitable employment opportunities Help is sought to : · Source out sponsors for contibution towards Self Employment Projects · Assistance to improve the living conditions of the families. · Employment/cultivation assistance so that they will have continuous income. · Services of an environmentalist to educate the villagers. · Medical assistance. . Career Guidance . Computer Education · Financial support on an ongoing basis. · Continuous support in educating the young. We are seeking assistance from organisations and individuals that are interested to do so. Our role will be that of a catalyst to raise the required funding/material. We therefore request your support to shed light to the lives of these needy people and improve their quality of life. |
