The Figure as Transient Form
'Depiction' is a normal term for drawing.  It suggests that drawing is a simple matter of getting an image down (de-) on paper.
Floating a new term - re-piction - suggests that there could be value in thinking about what is happening when a person draws and what has happened in the past when people draw.
Traditionally, a human model is set in a pose and is instructed not to move.
Some artists like to respond to a model's creative poses whereas most professional artists tend to see that 'setting a pose' is the need and responsibility of the artist.

What causes a pose to have meaning?
Is it like acting - a simple replay of what bodies do in real life?
What new meaning comes from depicting a figure in a state of nakedness?
Does the artist have a responsibility to stop poses from being merely erotic?
