Male models were drawn using the drawing toolbar in Microsoft Word. Such a strategy is, in itself a 'take'. By choosing a program not noted for graphic superiority, there is a proposition that a lightweight program may shed more light on masculinity than a program such as Illustrator. One might expect that a new yet-to-be-developed program under a title like 'Macrohard' would be more fitting than Microsoft to deal with masculinity. |
Tapping into the benefits of creating computer files, visitors to "TAKE" at Ipswich were encouraged to take home a printout of the "Take" that has most resonance with their take on masculinity. TAKE is now showing at bsg Gallery, 322 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy Victoria from Feb 29 - Mar 13 2008. |
