"Take" is  based on a selection of 7 drawings of male figures.  These drawings are reformated using various line style options to create a suite of 34 drawings that fan out ideas about masculinity.
This exhibition is open to the public at Ipswich Art Gallery, Spotlight Gallery, D'Arcy Doyle Place, Ipswich Queensland from July 20 - Sep 18 2007.

Male models were drawn using the drawing toolbar in Microsoft Word.  Such a strategy is, in itself a 'take'.  By choosing a program not noted for graphic superiority, there is a proposition that a lightweight program may shed more light on masculinity than a program such as Illustrator.  One might expect that a new yet-to-be-developed program under a title like 'Macrohard' would be more fitting than Microsoft to deal with masculinity.

Tapping into the benefits of creating computer files, visitors to "TAKE" are encouraged to take home a printout of the "Take' that has most resonance with their take on masculinity.
