REILLY ACE OF DOGS
"IF"
If you can start the
day without caffeine,
If you can always be
cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist
complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can overlook it
when those you love take it out on you when, thru no fault of yours,
something goes wrong,
If you can ignore a
friend's limited education and never correct him,
If you can resist
treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,
If you can face the
world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer
tension without medical help,
If you can relax
without booze,
If you can say honestly
that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color,
religion or politics . . . .
Then you are
as good as your
DOG

STEP INTO THE
WOODS OF MINNESOTA Listen to the leaves blowing above your head.
Watch the eagle soaring back and forth over the river. Be careful
now! Don't stumble on one of those huge granite boulders sticking
out of the trail. It took 2 summers just to carve the 1/4 mile trail from the road to the river! Watch
your step!! Listen...Is that a phoebe calling? Hear the crows
teasing the eagle? Hear the Veery singing up in the treetop? When you 'bed down'in the little treehouse tonight, listen for the 'bull frog
chorus', singing you to sleep. Well, you'd better start collecting
that firewood for the bonfire in front of the tree house. Have a
great stay and thanks for coming !! Be sure and sign our Guest Book below, OK ?

A BIT OF
HISTORY Filbert and Hazel Treesnakes ventured north from
their home in Lake Wobegon, looking for a quiet get-away. They found
10 acres of wooded river front in 1989 and said, "Eureka!" They
always intended to add the 5 acres adjoining on the south border and
after 10 years, it finally became available. So now they own 15
acreas, all river front and undeveloped woodland. Six years ago,
they had the notion of putting a tree house along the river's edge.
Hazel found a book on Tree
houses and after 'scouting' trees up and down the river,
they found a beautiful clump of No. Red Maples growing in the river
bottom. This seemed a perfect place, with a 180 degree view of the
river bed. With the need to accommodate two dogs, the 'bridge' from
the top of the bank to the tree house solved this problem. The front
of the tree house is anchored by that large No. Pin Oak out front
and a small footing on the left edge. The next phase was to
finish the observation deck that is out over the east canopy of
Maples, behind the treehouse structure. This was finished this year. The road is now in as well. Now for more stories, click on the photos below !! There's
lots more fun ahead !!
