phoebe

EASTERN PHOEBE, Sayornis phoebe - just outside the north window
Named after it's repeated call "feebee", over and over, this graceful flycatcher uses it's tail like a ballerina, bouncing up and down. An aerial acrobat, our cheery neighbor diets on mosquitos, endearing her to all. The first American bird ever banded by John James Audubon, per L Erickson's, "For The Birds" (for her link, click on Phoebe above), Pfeifer-Hamilton Books, Duluth, MN.
