The Inside Story

A number of years ago, a young doctor named Emmett Roberts, stumbled upon a formula that could change the world as we know it. It was a self-sustained, super-energy that would make electricity obsolete. Nuclear power, once looked as the wave of the future, could itself become a dinosaur of the past. Better still, this power could be used to power the entire planet, without the worries of pollution or malfunction. Roberts, along with his trusted assistant John Tasker, worked for months to try and perfect this formula. Following a final modification, the formula was ready for testing.
Testing was abruptly put on hold when a militia group raided Dr. Roberts’ laboratory, beating up he and Tasker. Fortunately, the formula was never found by the invaders.
Dr. Roberts decided that more help was required. He hired Kurtz, a promising young man. Soon after, Roberts and Kurtz began work on an even greater project. More and more Tasker was being left out of their work. In time, Tasker grew jealous of Kurtz and of the doctor’s closeness to his new assistant. The new unnamed project was stored in a top-secret location to which only the doctor knew its whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Tasker had been receiving mysterious calls from an eerie figure. Eventually Tasker fell in with a crowd of misfits from his youth. He mysteriously made his leave from Dr. Roberts, but not before stealing much of his valuable work.
While in the fold of his new leader, a dark and unseen figure named Lord Holec, Tasker became leader of a ‘Renegade’ force whose only goal is to wreak havoc on the corporate world and gain power for Lord Holec. Eventually, Tasker becomes so high on himself that he begins to compare his own might and power with that of Lord Holec. This is where the real story begins…
