For those of you that have joined us since our last newsletter, I wish you all a warm welcome and I hope you enjoy your new call signs. The skip is becoming a bit more active and reports about the place seem to indicate that most states have experienced conditions around 43 division with overseas contacts to be had on most days! No contact from the Sunday talkback over the past few weeks, but hopefully it will improve before Christmas. Well it seems that this will be the last newsletter out of Kerang Victoria! I have decided for health and family reasons and also for the betterment of the Tweed Radio Group, to stand aside as Executive President. I feel that this is a good time to make the change as the Tweed Radio Group needs to move forward and it can’t do that in this remote location! The Group is in fine shape with a good member base and is financially sound. I would like to thank the Management Committee, State Directors and all the Tweed Radio members for their support and friendship shown to myself and my family over the years, we have made a lot of good mates! Thank you one and all, Have a great Christmas / New Year Holidays Catch you all on the air, 43TR001 John Executive President. We think he is still on holiday. but we will catch up with him very soon. On the 9th September, 43TR 001 John graced us with his presence. We had a fantastic time with John and it was fantastic that ourselves and our W.A members finally got to meet our clubs president. John stayed at our QTH ( THE BALGA HILTON ) over the weekend. We held a BBQ for John while he was over, and I have to say, we have never laughed that much in all our lives. What a character! On Sunday, Branko took John to the U.H.F picnic at Tomato lake where John got to meet other cb'ers from Perth. Monday was a little bit quieter. John decided that he was going to cook our family dinner, so he put a pork roast and some veggies on the Weber. Bloody beautiful! While the pork was slowly cooking, John And TR 224 Martin decided to leave us for a while and go down to the LOCAL for a few cold ones. Martin had a ball meeting John and apparently had a great time at the LOCAL, chatting up the barmaids. He thought all of his Christmas's had come at once. We thought John had forgotten about the dinner, but when we went outside to check it for him, we found both John and Martin already in the backyard checking dinner, and yes still drinking. We had Martin stay for tea and it was a night we will never forget. We all had a very fantastic time and we hope John had enjoyed his stay. Unfortunately, I was not well on Friday night, spending the evening in hospital, leaving the men to fend for themselves in the kitchen - they would not let me do anything over the weekend, except sit down and relax. I thank them for that. I also need to thank TR18 Rosemary for rushing me to the hospital and also for sitting with me throughout the evening making sure I was OK. We also want to thank TR127 Glenn's wife Metua, for helping during the week with cleaning up the house with Branko and I. Also thankyou to Alma and Phillipa for helping to prepare the salads for me and KMB 007 Kelinda for doing up the pasta salads. All in all, everything went well except that the weekend went far too quickly. Our home ( the newly named Balga Hilton ) was far too quiet when John flew out on Tuesday. But he has made us a promise, that he will be back around Christmas time. Thank you John for making your visit a weekend that we will always remember. You are a fantastic bloke and a great mate. Tweed Radio 180 Kathy & Tweed Radio 084 Branko Sunday August 14th 2005 Tweed Radio Group Logo? Since the group was formed way back in 1990 it has not really had its own Logo, except for the koala. And so an appeal now goes out to the artists within the group to have a think about a suitable TR logo which would be used on our newsletters, stationery, QSL cards, website and so on. Designs may be sent to HQ by email or ordinary post. We look forward to seeing a range of clever designs! Remember that the simplest designs are often the best ! FLAG CARD Still in the concept stage at the moment but hoping to get the ball rolling on this as well! Monday July 18th 2005 Tweed Radio welcomes 43TR014 Richard of Brisbane Qld and 43TR088 Hazel (XYL of 43TR087 Bill) of Kiama N.S.W. to the Group!
