9th November 2008 Brisbane BBQ Report Despite heavy cloud cover an early morning shower or two, 16 radio friends gathered to share good company and good food at the lovely Colmslie Beach Reserve on the banks of the Brisbane River today. Jim ( as he always does ) bought along his BBQ (lovely and clean) so he and Mal could cook us a sausage sizzle on lovely fresh bread rolls. Good job boys. The catering today was done by Sharon and Neil TR members and a great job they did, all this washed down with some lovely cold drinks as the weather was humid. John said a few words of welcome to all visitors, then thanked all those who had put in a great effort to make this gathering another success. This is the third Meet and Greet this year and each one has seen everyone have a good chat and many laughs. In closing TR members in S/E QLD would like to wish all TR members throughout Australia a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR. Next years first Meet and Greet will be held on the 2nd Sunday in March date 9th/03/2009 this will be at the Brisbane Forest Reserve. Western Australia Report 4th December 2008 Hello to all TR members! Just a short letter from all of us here in the west. Our Christmas BBQ was on Sunday 30th November and like always, was a great success, and everyone had a fantastic time. There were approx 23 people, including children in attendance. We held our usual raffle as well as the christmas hampers. which raised some more money for the W.A. kitty. 1st place winners for the large christmas hamper were TR084 and TR180 Branko and Kathy. and the second place winners of the smaller hamper were TR127 Glenn and Metua. So the hampers were kept in the family this time. The group in w.a is still going strong even though we have lost a couple of our members. We would like to welcome Patricia and Martin our new members to the club, as well their daughters Melanie, Emily and their newborn little girl Gabriella. We have attached a few photos from the bbq for the website so other Tweed Radio members can have a look at all of our beautiful faces here in the west. Branko and I are going quite well. T hanks to all of our members for their continued support of our group in w.a and for supporting Branko and myself. Without the support of our members our group would not be successful, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for doing so. Merry Christmas to everyone and hope you all have a safe and prosperous new year. | 23rd december 2008 Bendigo HQ Dinner We had our xmas get together at the Bendigo R.S.L. last Saturday 20-12-08. 10 members and 3 visitors attended - a good time was had by all!
