| Well, yet again I couldn't sleep... So I did what any insomniac would, I turned on the TV and flipped through infomercials. A little Ronco rotisserie, a little real estate scam, a little Bose sound system. Then I found it... Robert Titlon's "Success-N-Life." Now I'm not religious, and normally I would have just flipped passed this. However, I recognized Mr. Titlon from a video clip (warning it's an 18 meg file). As I watched I chuckled a bit to myself as he spoke of saving people, and how everyone should send him money. But, the more I watched the less I thought it was funny and the more I thought it was disgusting. According to him, if you want God to help you have to make a vow with God. "Make a vow of a thousand dollars." "There is someone out there... praise Jesus... that needs to send $1000. You... I'm speaking to you. Pick up the phone and make a vow with God for $1000 dollars and he'll give you all you need." Then they had testimonials with people who sent him money and then got $20,000 or $30,000 back from God. Now we've all heard preachers asking for money on TV, but this crazy. I mean who would fall for this crap?? Stupid poor people who don't have $1000 to give away. I did a little web search on this guy, just to see who the hell he is. He's a few of his quotes that I found. - Forget your church. - The only time people were poor in the bible is when they were under a curse. - Do not say "Lord if it be thy will." and my personal favorite.... - Being poor is a sin. Leave it to Christianity to find every possible way to take advantage of people. Oh religion what would we do without you??? Who would touch our little boys? Who would kill all the excess people in the world?? Who would wake us up to the fact that homosexuals and feminists caused the 9/11 attacks?? How could the U.S. come up with excuses to attack countries for oil?? Who would use guilt and the threat of eternal damnation to suck all joy out of life?? Well that's it for tonight.
