Darison
Caught a bit unawares the candidates milled about in the weyrbowl for a while before they all made a dash for the barracks at once. Darison ran to the barracks along with the others and threw on his white robe. Seeing Kirfon nearby, doing the same he flashed the young man a grin and the two of them headed to the sands. The eggs were indeed rocking quite vigorously and all eyes turned to a rather large one that had cracked enough for them all to hear the dragonet creeling from within. Then the egg had cracked enough for the hatchling to stick it's bronze muzzle through. Creeling loudly the hatchling managed to break through the rest of the shell and stood there on wobbly legs as he surveyed the candidates before him. Darison held his breath as the bronze regarded the candidates then slowly walked forward. The bronze walked stately from one end of the row to the other then stopped and warbled happily right in front of Darison. Darison gasped as he heard the little bronze's voice inside his head and he fell to his knees in the sand. ![]() I am Toshikoth and I was so worried you wouldn't be here because I hatched early! "Oh Toshikoth, I would have been here for you no matter when you hatched," said D'rison with a smile. Toshikoth warbled happily and the two of them headed off the sands, D'rison getting many congratulations from the other candidates and just a few jealous looks. He could hardly believe that his dream of being a bronzerider would come true as soon as his beautiful dragon grew to adulthood. Why can you not believe it? We were meant for each other! said Toshikoth, butting D'rison in the side with his head. Now feed me! You have no idea how hungry cracking that egg shell made me! D'rison laughed and took the proffered bowl of meat and began handing large pieces of fresh meat to the voracious hatchling. The entire time he was eating the bronze remained silent and when he was done he looked up at D'rison with a sleepy look. You will still be here when I wake up said Toshikoth, more a statement than a question. "Of course, Toshi," said D'rison, gently stroking his dragon's eye ridges. Toshikoth crooned happily and closed his lids, slowly drifting into a contented sleep. |
