| 28 August 2006 I phoned Phil Pilgrim to ask: (1) Did Triumph ever change the thread on their clutch pullers? Ans. ‘Course they bloody didn’t, Triumphs are British, remember? Your clutch centre threads have been bodged. You have a problem. You will have to get in with levers and pry it off, but most likely will end up breaking something. (2) Wassup with my wiring harness? Ans. Sometimes the ignition switches on these bikes will rot out and cause you grief. To isolate switch/harness issues from charging/Boyer issues, try running a wire directly from the -ve terminal of the battery to the white wire of the Boyer. If the engine suddenly runs like a dream, then it’s your switch and/or harness that’s causing your problems. |
