			Everyone needs to work on the initial part of their Gold Award prerequisites, which includes earning three IPs that relate to different parts of the Promise and the Law. You also need 40 hours of leadership and 40 hours of career exploration. If you have worked at a paying job for 40 hours, you can count that time instead. We will be earning some of the IPs as a troop and some of them separately. Work on one or two IPs on your own. You also need to earn a focus book as part of the prerequisites. You can see descriptions of them at the online Girl Scout shop, which you can access through www.girlscouts.org. We will not be doing a whole troop project this time; each girl will be doing thier own individual project. So, start thinkinbg about what possible topics interest you and who could be your project advisor. Remember that your project much reach the community outside of Girl Scouting and must take at least 65 hours to plan and implement. Your project advisor should have experience or connections in the area that you are trying to work with.
