Termonfeckin Village Design Statement | ||||||||||||||

||||||||||||||
RURAL NATURE Termonfeckin’s character is essentially rural and natural. Surrounded by fields and with many open fields within the village boundary there is a strong sense of being in the countryside everywhere in the village. APPROACHES, GLIMPSES AND VIEWS The village is approached by six rural routes, passing through rolling country or tree lined verges. Each of these approaches offers treasured views of the two village church spires or views of the coast, mountains and woodland. Initial impressions of the village are forged by these scenes of beauty and by the character of the village centre. Special care should be taken to maintain and enhance the rural character of the approach roads, as defined later in this document. Any development along the approach roads should be to the same criteria as for the rest of the village. All developments should be assessed in terms of their impact on important views. Care and consideration should be given to ensure inhabitants, visitors and passers-by are not deprived of the beauty Termonfeckin Village has to offer. |
