TERMONFECKIN VILLAGE DESIGN STATEMENT PUBLISHED!

Thank you to those that found time to complete the Village Appraisal Questionnaire issued last November. The completed questionnaires have been collected, analysed and assimilated by TRPAG, and the findings used to draft a Village Design Statement (VDS) that is reflective of local opinion.

The Termonfeckin Village Design Statement has now been published and issued to Louth County Council & their planning consultant, Mr Michael Cummings for consideration in his appointed task of drawing up a Development Plan for the village of Termonfeckin.

Copies of the VDS have also been issued directly to Louth County Council and local councillors.

The document identifies the qualities that are valued by residents so that not only planners, but developers, landowners, architects, builders and local home owners contemplating alterations, can make informed decisions on their designs.

Despite some recent inconsiderate house designs and an uncoordinated planning policy, Termonfeckin remains a picturesque village. It is the hope of TRPAG that relevant parties will diligently note the observations and wishes of the local population as summarised in the Village Design Statement and ensure that Termonfeckin remains a village that its residents are proud to call home.

Copies of the Termonfeckin Village Design Statement are available for public inspection and reference at the Public Library in Drogheda, and at Termonfeckin Credit Union.

On-Line, the Statement can be viewed by clicking on the link on this page.

OTHER NEWS

During the month of January TRPAG has raised objections to the following proposed developments;

Application for 9 Dwellings by Tricast Developments at Balfeddock.
Many will recall that Tricast is the developer that had the village up in arms in 1999 with a proposal to construct 147 houses at Balfeddock and again in 2000 with proposals to construct 252 houses on the same site.
This latest application would appear to be the start of a piecemeal approach to achieve the same end target, and should be guarded against.
You may make your own observations on this development by writing to Louth County Council quoting Application Reference No. 011487.

Application to construct 91 dwellings by Shamrock Homes at Duffs Farm.
Quote Application No. 011368 should you also wish to make observations on this proposal.

If you have suggestions on improving the the village and its envirions or have any concerns regarding local developments and feel TRPAG may be able to help, contact us by clicking on the address on this page. Alternatively contact your local representative.
