A notable success has been scored this month in preserving the rural character of Termonfeckin.
In conjunction with a number of technical reasons, LCC concurred with TRPAG's observation that the proposal by Shamrock Homes to construct 91 dwellings at Duffs Farm was inappropriate to the village and premature pending completion of the Termonfeckin Village Plan.
However, LCC have opted to grant the Tricast application for 9 houses at Balfeddock. The decision in our opinion demonstrates inconsistent decision making. Reasons given for granting permission are flawed and TRPAG are considering further actions to challenge the decision.

During the month of February TRPAG has raised objections to the following proposed developments;
Application bt Keal-Ryan Properties for 10 additional dwellings to 50 previously approved at Sheetland Road.
Main concerns to the proposal are the impact that the additional traffic will have on general road safety through the village, and in particular to the under 5's that currently attend the Termonfeckin playschool located directly opposite the proposed entrance to this development.
Also the threat of flooding to;
(a) the village through storm water disposal into the adjacent river, and
(b) the site itself. The photograph (left) shows the subject site submerged in water at times of high tide.
