61. Monte Alban. The buildings of the site stand on a spacious, elongated plaza (the Great Square, 200 meters or 656 feet in length). The visitor enters the site on the eastern side of the north platform. Here, at the summit, there is an entrance gallery with immense supporting columns. This gallery leads into a sunken courtyard (characteristic of the architecture of Teotihuacan near Mexico City).
