62. Monte Alban. View from Main Temple looking southward. The feeling that hits you first, and persists, even while you’re crawling bent over into a dark tomb, is one of awe at the immensity of the place. Everything is so spread out, and the sky is so vast. As you cross the courtyard and climb stone steps to a temple that looks over the sweeping highlands, you feel that man on earth is small, yet somehow significant.
