66. “Danzantes” complex at Monte Alban. The Danzantes (dancers) are one of Monte Alban’s most interesting elements. Relief blocks in front of the building show grotesque “dancers” or deformed humans represented in vigorous movement--as if in dance. The disproportionately wide heads of the figures are indicative of the influence of Olmec style.
