75. Quetzalcoatl and Tlaloc. The wide tablero panels have a serpentine nature associated with conch-shells (which make the entire decoration an aquatic representation of two alternate elements, wind and water). The head of Quetzalcoatl is the head in the round of a serpent emerging from a kind of flower with eleven petals. The head of Tlaloc or “the god with the bow headdress” is a representation of the rain god, the principal deity of Teotihuacan.
