The Matron's Past

The night was dark. The world covered in a blanket of darkness as a figure emerged from a cave leading from the Underdark. The figure, definitely female, lingered by the entrance for a second before moving forward. A mission was set before her, and as such she must complete it. No matter how much she already disliked this new place. This female's name is Blythraen. Her mission was uncertain, but she knew Lloth would lead her as she wandered into the surrounding forest. Looking from a family called the NightFlames.

Into the NightFlame was placed a new daughter. This being the first time on the surface Blythraen was wary of the new family. But after being given her armor and her weapons, which even to this day she has, she felt more like she was apart of something. Unsure of her path she became as soft as an Eilistraee follower she met. She became fond of this male, but the weakness she now encountered slipped past her. She didn't notice when she became a friend to those she should have killed. Many years passed on like this.

Soon though another object to fill her lustful eyes was presented. Jabbuk, who was then an ally of the NightFlames, was introduced to Blythraen. She was enthralled by his harsh coldness. Something she didn't see in a male before. His profound strength urged her closer. It almost didn't seem meant to be as her Sister was ordered to kill Jabbuk as a trial of her prowess. She resented her Sister for that… But the urge to be with this new male made her overcome her fear of her Father as she dared to leave him and go with Jabbuk.

When her Father then tried to attack and kill him she, being the youngest and the most emotional pleaded with him to spare Jabbuk's life. Having been the favorite of her Father, he allowed Jabbuk to live, and Blythraen to stay with him. But the catch was that Blythraen could never return to the NightFlames. She was saddened by this yes, but her need of Jabbuk was more. She felt it was right down to her core.

As it is with some females, even Drow, after many years of his coldness she longed from something warm again. And her old lover held everything she was looking for. While pregnant with Jabbuk's first child she left him for her other mate. Even though it was her decision Jabbuk stripped her of everything that had to do with the Yeog'il'rymmin House.

Completely distraught she tried to find comfort with this weaker male. For some reason, during her pregnancy she enjoyed his company. She was happy for a time. Her life was only marred by the memory of her times in the Yeog'il'rymmin Family. Something was always missing. A home, people to rule over. Other Drows who follow her every command. But she was willing to give it all up for a time. The pressure had seemed to build up. And with her leaving it was her way of exploding.

But things did not go so well when she was with him though, which she took as a sign from her Goddess that this was not the right person. She was rapped, tormented; her child was kidnapped, but returned. With the returning of her child she decided to go back to Jabbuk. Where she knew it was safe. She came to him, loosing her life quickly, with his and her first son as a gift.

At the edge of death, Jabbuk saved her, but something went wrong with the healing. Though Blythraen had her life, she didn't have her memory. Which was almost a good thing as she turned into how a Drow Female should be. Cold and heartless she once more was the Matron of Jabbuk's House, the powerful Yeog'il'rymmin. Most did not like her as such, but even more people respected her for it. It was at this time that her Daughter's finally took her as Matron. Some even called her "Ilhar" which means mother in Drow.

Through the many years that pass, Blythraen once more provides Jabbuk with a child of his own blood. Peacefully her existence as Matron fulfills the Mission. And since it was finished she was called back unexpectedly to the Underdark. There she once more resided for over 5 years. During that time Lloth once more turned her into what she should be. Her memory of even healing spells was erased.

She was a warrior, a protector, not a high priestess. Her skills were toned, as was her mind. Cold and emotionless to those outside the family, but gentle and warm to those in it she became a true Matron. Hated and feared by outsiders. Loved and adored by her children. Through all the changes she went through in the Underdark one thing remained the same. Her love for her Patron, and her mate, Jabbuk.

When the time was right Lloth released Blythraen once more to the surface. She became angry when she found out that in her absence Jabbuk had chosen a new Matron. The one called Mirshann. She felt at first her mission was to kill this new Matron. But soon, she came to realize something. Mirshann was a High Priestess. She was a Warrior. Together they could make an unstoppable team. Then clear in her mind was Lloth's wishes as she offered a truce and a partnership to the one she tried to kill before. Together, both working under Jabbuk, they raise the family into the greatness it was once before.
