This is a 3/4 side view, without the poncho.
Full-figure view, actual size.
Two versions of the Endor Luke figure were released, one with knee joints (the version packaged with a Speeder Bike) and one without (the Toys 'R' Us "Millenium Minted Coin" version). Neither had a removable helmet, however, so I made this figure using a Bespin Luke figure head, the "Millenium Minted Coin" version Endor Luke body, and the helmet portion cut from the head of the same figure. I preferred this figure to the Speeder Bike version because the legs were posed in a much nicer position, and the helmet was painted more accurately.

With the poncho removed, he makes a great-looking Luke Jedi, too!

This is a close-up of the head, with the helmet on.
The helmet for this Endor Luke figure had to be very carefully hollowed out using a Dremel. I use a cone-shaped sharpening stone, rather than a drill bit, because the friction generated by the stone helps to soften the plastic, and removes unwanted bits as much by melting as it does by cutting (and thereby doing less damage to the helmet).

I had to resculpt the lower edges of the helmet where it wraps around the figure's face, and then repaint the edges to match the rest of the helmet. A thin layer of dullcoat sprayed across the helmet evened out the surfaces, leaving a very nice finish.

Simple custom jobs like this often make me wonder why Kenner never bothered to make the effort in the first place. There's no reason why any figure should come with a helmet sculpted onto the head, rather than it being a separate removable piece.
