Rubber is an extremely flexible material that is mostly applied in the automobile industry, particularly to the making of tires.  With the increase in the production of automobiles, tire production also goes up proportionately.  On average, each car wears out 16-20 tires during its lifetime.  With millions of cars in the world today, it is not too hard to imagine solid waste would be accumulated if all those used tires are not treated and recycled in anyway.  To learn about the actual tire & rubber recycling process, please visit our section Current Recycling Processes – Tire & Rubber.

This section provides a list of today’s recyclable tire & rubber materials.
