This model started life as a Pica P-51D kit. The airframe was originally built by Dennis Horny of DePere, WI. We purchased this plane built, glassed, and primed around 2002. Then the modifications began. The changes include: Conversion to a Razorback and removal of the dorsal fin. Reshaped nose Dive brakes added to the wing Bomb racks installed under each wing panel Rebuilt/fabric covered elevators and rudder. This model also featured sequencing gear doors utilizing an Ultra Precision sequencing valve. The finish was Dyna-Skin over fiberglass and laquer. Graphics by Dynamic Decals. Unfortunately this plane was lost on it's second flight due to a failed glue joint. The wing to fuse fit was too tight causing the wing bolt block to be in tension once the wing bolts were tightened. This block tore out allowing the wing to separate from the fuse mid-flight. |
