Storyline |
You are Tsushima, a member of Shura; an elite fighting force of the 23rd century dedicated to bringing down terrorism and hostile forces who pose a threat to the New Earth government. Over the past 20 years Shura has mainly worked alongside with Sephion; a highly advanced mega-corporation that develops and manufacturers scientific technology as well as space-travelling machinery. So far nothing has proven a serious threat to Shura. Nothing except for Graveney. With the troops of Graveney commonly refered to as Gravenoids, Graveney is a large terrorist organisation that is "dedicated to exellence", meaning that have heartless ambitions to rule humanity with an iron fist and are more than willing to take any extremes necessary, and even the few extremes that aren't. You yourself have a personal grudge against the Gravenoids. You had only joined Shura 4 years ago and it sure wasn't because of the sense of duty. It was because revenge, for Graveney had viciously tortured and killed your brother and since then you have vowed that vengeance will be yours Having been known to create a lot of destruction with their terrorists attack, recently their attacks have been focused around Sephion, who have been working on hyperdimensional space travel, (also known as project heaven's gate) and have managed to steal some of their technology. They then began to to experiments themselves with the technology. If they had perfected this technology they could have proved to be invincible. Luckily Shura discovered their home base on the planet Juran and managed to launch a large assault on the base to retrieve the technology deep underground. This assault turned out to be an enigma. At first Shura was on the winning side until the remaining Gravenoids decided to take refuge in their underground labs. When Shura managed to find a way to their underground labs not a single Gravenoid could be found. They did however, find an unstable hyperdimensional gateway. They assumed that the Gravenoids had got the technology working but did not have enough time to get the gateways stable, and rather risk being caught they took their chances with the unstable gateways and escaped through them. Since then not a single act of Graveney has taken place and everyone assumed that they had quite literally vanished from existance. As Sephion, they continued to the heavens gate project (under constant supervision from Shura) on the isolated desert planet Saharon and had managed to create stable warps in which they could send an object through one gateway and see it come out the other. After that Sephion told Shura that they were going to continue with the experiments by trying out more long-distanced hyper-warps (ie from one planet to another. Since then Shura lost contact with them. The last thing they heard from them was a garbled, mostly incoherent message saying "....their back! *garble* not human". Looks like those Gravenoids are back. Instantly Shura sprang into action only this time they had to fight a war on too fronts. Not only did they have to deal with the Gravenoids on Saharon, they also had to fight the on Brayol too which is the other planet that they did hyper-warp experiments on when they were going to try long-distance hyper-warp. Unlike the incident on Juran you were to be assigned with the platoon that will fight Graveney, namely the one that will be sent to Saharon. When you landed on Saharon in Kratern desert from the Shura warship orbiting Saharon your job was scout the lowland areas in search for the Shura checkpoints of the desert via motobike whilst the rest of the team were to advance forward towards the main base. However upon reaching the checkpoint to find that no one was there, you recieved a distress call on your radio from the rest of the platoon.? Seems as if they were being ambushed. By the time you make the scene of the attack, you are too late. The attackers had come and gone, and what was left was a bloody mess of mutilated bodies and eviscerated entrails. It appeared to be quite an enigma for soldier. The dead soldiers sure didn't like they had been killed by guns or explosives as such but more like they had been torn apart by the claws of a beast. Other than that all of the weapons had been taken away. "Probably for good measure" you think to yourself. The most striking part of the massacre was how one of the marines had been impaled deliberately on a sharp stump of a tree. Disturbing to say the least. You begin to wonder if even Graveney was that sick.. After a few minutes of investigation you noticed that one of the soldiers is still alive but barely. You approach him to ask him what had happenned exactly. The only answer you could get from him was a lot of whimpering followed by the mention of monsters. With that he died, filling you with angry determination to make sure that vengeance will be yours. Upon travelling towards your new destination of the Sephion base by taking a different route, your motobike unexpectedly comes to a halt as it runs out of power, furthermore your radio had also busted. With no sign of backup for 100s of miles with no allies, and little weaponry (a pistol and a light hawk), looks like you have no choice but to proceed alone. Whatever you are up against, it's going to be more than anyone had bargained for. |

As a member of Shura, it is your mission to uncover what exactly has happened to the Sephion base on Saharon and more importantly put a stop to the evil that has been unleashed. It is vital that you find more weaponry and armoury other than your pistol and and light hawk. Clearly what you are up against is out of this world and it will require your skill and wits in order to stay alive. With such technology in the hands of such an evil the future of mankind is likely to be at stake. With you buddies dead and with the likelyhood of ?bad-guy confrontations being dished out by the forkload, your objectives are clearly: show no mercy to the bad-guys, whoever they are because they won't show any for you. |

Weaponry |
As you progress various weaponry can be found scattered throughout the game. Since you begin with so little finding more equipment can prove to be dramaticly more essential in your quest. Below is the list of weapons that you can find. Keep in mind that they are unique and can be suited for more specific situations. 1. Light-hawk: In case things get particulary rough, Shura marines are equipped with a small handle that can emit a light blade. Essentially this can be referred to as a lazer sword.?? Although it's not a one-man-army weapon, a blow from this can quite easily take down light infrantry or those with litle or no armour. Easy to use and holster, it's best to keep one handy. 2. Berserk pack: Not quite a weapon as such but when equipped this piece of equipment can increase the power of the light-hawk. With the enhanced light-hawk you can strike down opponents with ballistic results and can even be used on the more tougher opponents. However the effects of he berserk pack can only last for a set period of time and will deactivate when entering a new area. When equipped, your visor will have a tint of red. 3. Hokuto Shinken Sphere: From the other side of the hyper-warp comes this enigma of a weapon. Presented as an orb with 7 stars in the shap of the big dipper, obtaining it will drive secret techniques deep into the user's mind. What the secret techniques and what they do is unknown. It's a weapon that no mere mortal knows much about. Since the name Hokuto shinken translates to North star God Fist, you can assume that it's dangerous enough. 4. Pistol: The .454 Magnum auto is what you start off with alongside with the light-hawk. It isn't too powerful but particulary useful for activating switchs and gunning down light guards. 5. Riot shotgun: A particular favourite amongst the shura marines. This pump-action scattergun is effective at both short and long range. A consistent weapon indeed. 6. Sawn-off Shotgun: An unofficial weapon in the Shura armoury. Despite the ineffectiveness of this gun at long range and the fact that it uses more ammo and takes longer to reload, the sheer strength of this weapon is what makes it worth while. It can easily mow down multiple enemies at a time. Uses shotgun ammo 7. RazorMG: The original model of this gun was a sniper rifle designed for stealth sabotage. The powerful bullet that was used soon proved to be more effective for rapid-fire assault. This latest model is the result of this. Extremely fast, it can easily rip an enemy to shreds. It uses up ammo quick so keep an eye out for additional ammo. Uses Pistol ammo. 8. Rocket launcher: This powerful weapon is capable of defeating the armour of even the toughest mecha. It is another weapon that is popular amongst the Shura marines, who commonly refer to it as the "giant slayer" 9. Pulse Vulcan: Designed for use against more heavily armed infrantry, the pulse vulcan is a high velocity light cannon. It hurls deadly pulse lazers from rotating barrels that can fry even the most hardened of opponents 10. Shogun: The unofficial name of this huge cannon, it hurls a ball of anti-matter forward towards it's intended target. Once it hits the target it engulfs it in an explosion of pulse energy and unleashes shockwaves that damages nearby targets. The marines of Shura claim this as the ultimate in hand held weaponry. Try it for yourself to see what they mean. |

Equipment |
Since the guns won't get you all the way there, it's important that you take any equipment that you may find. Quite a few of these can prove to be invaluabl in your journey so keep your eyes peeled. Ricecakes: It's a bit weird to find ricecakes in such a situation. Never the less, eating one of these can increase your health even beyond 100% Stimpack: Increases you health to a considerable amount, making it easier to proceed when things look rough. Medipack: Same as the stimpack but to a greater extent Armour boost: These helmet shaped medallians can increase you armour power to a small degree and can even go beyond the usual 100% Body armour: These falls into two types, type 1 and type 2. Type 1 (green) is suited for general combat whilst type 2 (blue) is suited for more extreme combat. With battles becoming increasingly more difficult it's always best to keep a look out for either one of these. Note that if you find armour whilst wearing armour you can replace your current armour with the new one but only if the new one has more protection than the one that you currently have. Radiation suits: Throughout the journey you will encounter pools of hazardous and corrosive liquid (eg: slime, lava etc) that can sap away your health and armour with ease. These suits will protect you against such an obstacle for a set period of time. When equipped you visor will have a tint of green. When the effects wears off your screen will flash. You must get out of the liquid when this happens. Backpack: Double the amount of ammo that you can carry. If you encounter another one of these you will recieve extra ammo Lensmap: Attaching one of these to your wrists can enable you to see the entire map of your current location. Note that each lensmap are designed for the specific location so a lensmap in one area won't work in another location. Light amplication batteries: Your helmet is equiped with a brighter vision mode for those times where things get really dark. Initially you don't have any power to work this function but equiping the batteries for them will enable the function to work for a set period of time. Chemical barrels: Scattered throughout the Sephion base is these containers with flammable liquids inside. Not an item as such but shooting one will cause the barrel to rupture and explode. Useful for clearing a path or taking out enemies but don't stand too close or it'll hurt you too. |

Omega Crystals |
Like the Hokuto sphere, these also come from the other side of th warp. Practical nothing is known about these. No one knows what there are or what they do, nor has anyone of them have been defined here. There's only one way to find out what they do, if you can find them that is. |

Bad guys |
They're out there, and desire only to slaughter you. Below are a list of baddies that had been spotted by Sephion's security cameras before they were incapacitated (hence their incoherance). They range from common thugs to super-powerful mutants, cyber-monstrosities to demons, and they're all to do with the hyper-warps. With the unpredictable nature of the warps keep in mind that not all of the mosters have been listed here because quite simply no one knows every single badguy. |

Gravenoid thug: Once an evil terrorist, always an evil terrorist. The only difference here is that what was once a human is now a blood-sucking undead monster. Armed with both a pistol and an axe, these bastards are savage in their pursuits. Kill'em quick! |
Gravenoid soldier: Same as above except more bulky and armed with a shotgun. They're generally slower but pack a punch if you're not careful. |
Parabuth: A mix between machine and monster, these durable, fast moving predators hate anything human and strike with a triple-barrelled chaingun from their mouths. Keep moving if you encounter these things or else it'll make swiss cheese out of you. |
Gastor: Monster would be the only word to describe these things. They appear to be a mix of animals, such as porcupine and snake and seem to capable of dark magic. They shoot fireballs from their mouths and are also capable of a fire punch. Considering their durablility. a shotgun would be the weapon of choice for this beast. |
Zaels: A large red brute, these demons naturally have an appetite for human flesh and see you as dinner as well as an enemy. They have no long range attacks, but move quickly and have strength, claws and teeth that could eviscerate you in seconds. Keep you distance whilst firing away to kill them quick though an enhanced light hawk could do the trick.. |
Necrolite: A bizarre creature to say the least. As well as having one eye and being ugly, they float in mid-air in a way that defies gravity. From what has been observed by the security cameras they don't appear to be too bright. They can however move at quick speeds in order to sink their incisors into their prey. Pretty dangerous if they attack in packs. |
Cacodemon: Possibly an evolution of the Necrolite, they both seem to inherit the same characteristics such as one eye and tentacles. They're slower in speed but make up for it with the ability to breath fire. Deadly nevertheless. |
Oni: This thing may also be a relative of the cacodemon and the Necrolite, but these things tend to defy reality alone anyway. These are literally the foot-troops from hell. They're strong, tough and although they don't fly they have arm-mounted bio-cannons that shoot devastating lazers. Powerful weaponry advised. |
Baron: A winged fiend that is even more powerful than the Oni. They are twice as tough and shoot lazers from their hands. Keep your eyes peeled |
Onitank: It's uncertain if they have any relation to the oni etc. They are essentially a head mounted on cybernetic machinery complete with tank wheels (hence the name). Be sure to take cover frequently as they are quite trigger happy with their plasma guns. |
VileFiend: Discusting to say the least. These hideous monstrosities have the ability to launch a necrolite from their lower mouths. Whether they are "giving birth" or have teleporters inside them is unclear. Ultimately you'll be too busy fighting their hordes of necrolites to be concerned about that. |
Revenant: An enigma of an enemy. No one knows much about this creature. It can't be a Gravenoid since it has goatlegs. Their main attacks involve a lazer sword like the light hawk and a missile attack that homes in on you. Why can't your missiles do that? |
Giros:A fat bastard of a monster. These things are very durable but are fortunetly a wide, slow-moving target. Their fireball attack is worth being careful of however |
Archvile: Little is known about this thing. Reports mention something on dark magic abilities but other than that it is an enigma. |
Spider Mastermind: If spiders give you the creeps then think how terrorified you'll be when you encounter this large titan. They appear to be elites that command the lesser monsters in certain areas. They have considerably precision with their chainguns so don't take them head one. |
Cyberdemon: Extremely berserked and aggressive, this thing may be the most deadly monster that you may encounter. Extremely durable and armed with a powerful rocket launcher, these things sure don't go down easy. Make sure that you have the most powerful of weapons in your arsenal before encountering these things. |
