Houston, Texas -Texas Southern swept a pivotal SWAC match-up against Grambling 6-4, 22-9, Friday, March 22 in Houston, Texas. Jason Thornhill won the opener, pitching seven strong innings with five strikeouts. The top TSU hitters were Stephen Cotton (2-4, homerun), Aulston Taylor (3-4, 2 RBI's), Calvin Fuggett (2-4, RBI) and David Bell (2-4, RBI).

The second game was a TSU rout paced by Curt Sostand's seven-inning four-strikeout performance. Stephen Cotton capped another strong showing with a 3-4 day, with a home run and six RBI's. David Bell added a home run and four RBI's and Calvin Fuggett added three hits. The two teams will face off again, noon, Saturday, March 24, at McGregor Park-Neagle Field.
