When programmable fuel injection is mentioned, one of the most commonly used is the Accel/DFI unit.  My particular unit has been modified for staged injection by BDS.  But its not just the brain that has to be modified, the hardware has to be modified and also the fuel system to keep up with the demands of a performance turbocharger.  On top of that, a skilled technician has to operate a laptop to program the proper parameters to create a fuel map on which the brain can reference.  Luckily for me, I hooked up with these talented people.

The intake manifold was modified by Chuck's Machine Shop.  He turned out bungs of the proper size on a lathe.  The bungs for my manifold were also threaded on the inside.  This was for the injectors which were also threaded.  The manifold is then bored for the bungs at the proper angle.  The bungs are then heli-arc welded and the excess inside is grinded flush with the wall of the manifold.  The injectors are then screwed in and the fuel rail is machined to accept the injectors on the other side.  I use a BDS fuel rail in which injector clips are used to affix the rail onto the injectors.  This creates a clean look, is simple to use, and eliminates any brackets for the rail.

Gil of NRP then set the distributor up for reference (Chuck also made me a billet distributor).  Once the distributor is set, DFI takes over.  Gil operated the laptop and programmed while I drove.  Since I still had the 2-bar MAP sensor, he maxed it out at 17 PSI.  Later on, a 3-bar MAP sensor was put in and the Supra was now turned up to 23 PSI.  Gil says theres more in it and now a second Bosch fuel pump, -10 fuel lines and 2 SX fuel pressure regulators were put in.  Well this is where I'm at now.  I'll keep you posted on the results.
I plan to put the Supra back on Harv's Dynojet and attempt to max out this turbo.  I've got this NOS fuel injection nitrous setup sitting in my garage and that will go on after that.  I just want to set a baseline for the car.
