Turbo V6 Engine Pull
On March 16, 2001, I pulled my 65,451 mile engine for some basic repairs and replacement parts.  The plan was to replace the timing chain and gear, valve springs, motor mounts, water pump, to port match my headers, weld my driver side header, port match my lower intake and upper intake, bell-mouth my throttle body and turbo inlet, etc. while the engine was out for a good cleaning and new parts.  After pulling the oil pan, we found some metal shavings.  The rod and main bearings looked great, the crank looks perfect, and the rotating assembly was in good working order.  Only after pulling the stock cam did we find that the cam bearings were shot.  As of now, the engine is still out of the car.  The engine will either have all the bearings replaced along with a new cam, lifters, and valve springs and slammed back together, or it will be completely rebuilt.  Attached are some pictures and captions of the engine pulling process.  Hopefully the GN will be up and running soon.

On April 13th, 2001, I got my engine back from the machine shop.  Everything was checked and I ended up having the cam bearings, and rod bearings replaced.  The crank was perfect, unturned and the machine shop said the main bearings were fine.  So, I went ahead and ordered my Comp Cams 206 206 with lifters and valve springs, along with some other misc parts.  As of April 15th, the engine has been cleaned and painted, the front cover and new water pump cleaned and painted along with all of the other parts for the car.  I also sent off my valve covers, upper and lower intake, and accessory bracket to be powdercoated.  If all goes well, I should have the engine together and ready to install by April 28th.  More pictures and detailed descriptions will be posted soon.  Thanks for stopping by.
