Turning Point Equine Center offers Full Board @ $350.00 per month. Short-term board is $375.00 per month. No pasture boarding. All breeds welcome.
Boarders must sign a boarding contract and release form.
Full board and amenities include: Stalls: 37 stalls (12 for boarding, 12 for training horses, & 13 for owner's personal horses). Currently, we do have boarding spots available. Stalls are 10' x 12' and 12' x 12' and have a lime floor over a gravel base. Rubber mats in every stall. Stalls are cleaned, freshened, or stripped & re-bedded, then disinfected 7 days a week. Pelleted or sawdust bedding used. 14' aisleways---partially rubber-matted. Stalls plumbed for automatic waterers. Grain: A 12% protein oat-based feed is mixed to our specifications using flax oil – no molasses - and fed twice a day. Feeding program is tailored to each horse's individual needs. Boarders are encouraged to read ingredient tag to know what is being fed and why. Those choosing to feed something other than what is provided will need to purchase it themselves. Feeding instructions to be given to the barn manager. Hay: A variety of quality mixed hays is stored in a separate hay barn and fed all year round. Type & amount of hay is fed 3 times a day to the individual horse's needs. This facility feeds approximately 7,800 - 9,100 bales of hay each year. Supplements: Salt / mineral block / quad block provided in all pastures and training horse turn-out pens. Boarders wanting to feed supplements in addition to what is included in our grain mixture will need to purchase and provide feeding directions to the barn manager. Farrier: Scheduled by Turning Point unless farrier arranged by boarder. It is a requirement to have your horse's feet properly cared for. Teeth: It is a requirement to have your horse's mouth properly cared for. Those with questions regarding dental care should discuss with Ed or Cris Chambers. Health: Must comply with the vaccination and worming requirements of our facility. These include, 5-way (E&W, influenza and tetanus), West Nile, and Rhinoneumonitis. No exceptions. Additional vacs at owner's option and expense, (i.e. Strangles, Potomac Fever, Rabies, etc.). We advocate rotational worming every 3 months. To reiterate -- vaccinations and worming are required and must be performed to the barn schedule. Also, a number of veterinarians are available to schedule appointments; some having after hours and on-call services. Several equine hospitals in the area. Turnout: Horses are healthier when they have access to the out-of-doors. Boarding horses have assigned pastures and pasture mates. A boarder may request 24 hour turnout; weather permitting.
