The local station links lead to background information, memories from the past, programming highlights and some of your favourite TV jingles (over most of these stations).
Notes: Montreal area cable numbers provided.
A note about suffixes. The -LP (as in WWBI-LP) is used in the U.S. for low power stations while the -CA (WGMU-CA) is used for low power stations protected from interference from primary stations. All other stations (apart from translators and DTV) officially end in the -TV suffix (i.e. WCAX-TV, although this site will identify such stations as WCAX for short).

DTVWhat is DTV?: a DTV signal is a digital signal which allows for High Definition TV (or HDTV) viewing, if you have a High Definition set. Plattsburgh

Montreal
Videotron is now carrying the HDTV feeds of CBS, NBC, ABC and PBS from Burlington/Plattsburgh. Also, CTV is currently transmitting a DTV signal (CFTO Toronto) in High Definition now on digital cable channel 607 and via Bell ExpressVu. Global TV (CIII Toronto) is also now on Videotron (Channel 608) and on ExpressVu (Channel 801). Other satellite HDTV signals include TSN, The Discovery Channel and Citytv. VPT is also airing a digital signal on channel 24, from Mt. Ascutney near Windsor, which can be seen in southeastern Vermont and bordering areas of New Hampshire. While channels 19 and 20 are now operating, the channel 64 test transmitter, from the CBC building, seems to be off the air. One of the CBC's best kept secret was that even though their HD broadcasts were not advertised as being available over-the-air, they were sometimes seen on the channel 64 test signal, when it was working properly. |
