Lucy's 1st Christmas in Heaven December 2002

What do I want for Christmas, the words just echo on As nobody can get me, the gift I really want For I really want you back my babe, in my arms to hold Then the days won't always seem so long and the nights won't seem so cold I know I cannot have you back because your in Heaven up above So I'll send you all my tears and I'll send you all my Love Oh won't someone wrap you up for me and tie you with a bow Then send you back to me, your Mummy, way down here below I miss you oh so very much and I long to hold you tight And my hearts been breaking into bits, since I had to say 'goodnight' But I know that this can never be, so I just want you to know Have a lovely Christmas in Heaven Sweetheart and Mummy loves you so!!

Here is a picture of Lucy's 'garden' at Christmas.  Though she wasn't here to spend it with us, it was still her 1st Christmas and we wanted to show her how much she is loved and thought about always!!

At home, we put some little decorations around Lucy's photograph including Winnie The Pooh and Tigger, and a fibre optic angel. Thomas made Lucy a very special angel ornament in school which is hanging on the left of her photograph.

This is a copy of a letter that Thomas wrote to Lucy just before Christmas.  He asked if he could put it in the postbox and send it to Lucy in Heaven, so I let him.  It seems so unfair that a 5 year old should have to write a letter to his sister in Heaven.  It says: 'To Lucy, I miss you baby sister.  Be a good angel.  Love Thomas xx'

It matters not how long a star shines.... What is remembered is The brightness of the light!!
