Well, we played Metal Night 4 in Tingles on Friday night past (16/05/03). It was an enjoyable night, but certainly not our best performance.

We did a set which consisted of 8 originals and 8 covers. We're told that our originals were the highlight of our set, which is good news for us, since hopefuly we'll be able to stick to 100% original sets from now on. Some of our covers went down quite well too. "Whiskey In The Jar" also got a good reception. "Sweet Dreams" brought all the closet Eurhythmics fans onto the floor, while "Sonne" by Rammstein and "Roots, Bloody Roots" got genuine pits going.

However, it certainly had its downside too. Our playing was not spectacular, and the set was peppered with minor mistakes. Also, I (Waldo) suddenly decided that Paranoid should end straight after my solo, much to the dismay of the rest of the band. A local "critics" also said that Fear of The Dark was very bad, much like most of our songs on the night. Although a lot of the blame must lay with us, in fairness we simply could't hear each other a lot of the time, which complicated matters. This guy criticised for not moving a lot on stage. When you have a mic 10 cm in front of you, a drum kit 15 cm to your left, an amp 15 to your right and another 15 cm behind you, we'll see how mobile you are, mate! :D

Anyway, we've been scheduled to play at the Summer Festival this year. It will take place on Thursday 19th of June in Omagh Bus Depot. This is right in the middle of our exams, and obviously it's the same for all people in years 12-14, so I personally think it's a pretty dumb time to have it. To have came up with the idea... DUH! Anyway, we should be playing for about half an hour and be doing a completely original set. Lots of other local bands will alos be featuring, such as Pink Ink, Field IX, The Hot Rocks and Saragemo (whose lead singer is a pube).

We've recorded 2 tracks of our demo, "Metal Anguish" and "Pummel Me", andI'm told the mastered versions are sounding excellent, especially the former. We just need to nick the equipment over a weekend and  we'll get everything polished off. However, with exams looming, this might not be until the summer holidays. For more info on the demo, check out the Gear page.

There are also whispers that the Faith may be playing a gig in Derry soon. I'll keep you posted on that. Things are going to be slowing down now until the end of the exams, so good luck to everyone who's taking them, and let's have a damn good summer!
