Ode To All Ontar ~ R.S.O. Controllers On one of Autumn’s rainy days I turned the radio on And heard a voice over the air Calling all hams out there. First there was Ed or INX Followed by BXF And neither one had much success Quite silent was the net. Out of the goodness of my heart I suggested a game of cards While time slowly ticked away On this dark and blue Monday. But net controllers can’t indulge In simple games of chance And no one there to hold their hand As they keep calling on "Please, do check in. Please come and talk It is so lonely on the band" And I could almost see a tear Rolling down their cheek, I swear. With pity, my heart overflowed As I suggested an alterative and told them to try cuddle up Real close to a hot water bottle Until their time was up. Stubbornly, their lonely voice kept on Imploring on and on "Looking for check-ins. Come on in this is your ontar-net Till came Elmer LJX And he had more success The guys, it seemed, crawled out of bed To QSL his call. We (All of us) feel for you, Ontar controllers You’re so lonely at the top But then of course, that is the price You have to pay when you’re at the top. (Have a good net guys..hi..hi..hi..)
