WE ARE HEALED SPIRITUALLY NOT PHYSICALLY

In Genesis chapter one the Bible tells us that God created the heaven and the earth and all the many other creations;
the seas, the stars, the sun and the moon, grass and trees, all the different animals of the world and of course man. And we read in Genesis 2:6-7 of how he formed man from the dust of the ground and how he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.  We read in Genesis 2:8 that God planted a garden eastward in Eden and there he put man.  I believe that the garden was the most beautiful place on earth and it all belonged to Adam.  Eden was a perfect place without sin, no pain, and no sorrow.  All man had to do was obey God and his
needs would all be provided by God.  I believe Eden was a symbol of what heaven will be like.  In Genesis 2:9 we read of how
God grew every tree that was pleasant for sight and good for food and in the mist of the garden the tree of life, and the tree
of knowledge of good and evil.
In Genesis 2:16-17 God commanded man that he could eat freely of every tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; and
God said for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.  I believe here that God was speaking of a spiritual death, a separation from God.
In Genesis 2:21-23 the Bible tells us that God took the rib of Adam and made woman; called woman because she was taken out of man.
In Genesis 3:1-6 the Bible tells of how satan came to Eve in the form of a serpent and how he tempted her to eat of the forbidden fruit; it would seem that satan came to Eve while she was alone and near the tree.  Eve may have been looking at the fruit of the tree and thinking of how good it looked, that is the way satan works.  He comes at us sometimes when we are alone or in our weakest moment, or sometimes when we are around or looking
at things that we know we shouldn't be around.  It is easy to be tempted and do wrong and we must always remember that God is all-good and sin is all evil.  In Genesis 3:4 the serpent tells Eve, ye shall not surely die, it could be here that satan was speaking of physical death where God was speaking
of a spiritual death.
In Genesis 3:6 the Bible tells of the temptation was too great for Eve.  She could have called on God and satan would have had to flee from her, but instead she ate of the fruit that was forbidden and she gave to Adam and he did eat.  Here were two people who had everything they could ever need,
and I believe they walked and talked with God, but of the one thing that God said they could not have they had to have it too.  Even though Adam and Eve were in a perfect world in the garden, and had everything, God gave them their own free will.  The same free will that man has today.  God will tell
us what to do in his word, but it is our will to do it or not.
The Bible tells us in Genesis 3:7 that after Adam and Eve ate of the fruit that their eyes were both opened.  They were not blind physically before but now their eyes had been opened to good and evil.   They had disobeyed God and sin had entered in; their spiritual relationship with God was now over.  Adam and Eve did not physically die, but they did die spiritually.
In Genesis 22:24 God told Adam and Eve to leave the garden; they were now separated from God due to their sin of disobedience.  God shut them out
of the garden or paradise, and they were no longer in the place of the tree of life.  It was not taken from them because it was a gift from God, they
simply threw it away.  Adam and Eve being put out of the garden by God, this perfect place, a paradise; heaven on earth, they were now separated from God.  This is an example of mans separation from God that he will experience if he dies lost and goes to hell through his disobedience when he rejects Jesus Christ as his Savior and accepts salvation.
I sometimes wonder of what would have happened if man had not failed God in the garden.  Would they still be there?  I don't know, but the thing
I do know is that they failed God, sin entered in and they were cast from the garden and spiritually separated from God.
In Genesis chapter six the Bible tells of how wicked man got on earth and that God saw this wickedness and it repented and grieved him that he
had ever made man on the earth.  God decided to destroy man and beast and all creeping things and the fowl of the air from the face of the earth.
The Bible also tells us in Genesis 6:8 that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord and in Genesis 6:9 it says Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God. Meaning that he believed in God and had a close relationship with him.  Noah was the only righteous man on earth at this time.  In Genesis 11:22 the Bible tells us that God instructed Noah to build the Ark and God also told Noah how big to make the Ark and from what kind of wood to build it from.  God also instructed Noah to take two of everything, male and female, of the fowl of the air and of the cattle.  Also two of every creeping thing, and Noah through faith in God, did as God commanded him to do.  Noah built the Ark just as God instructed which
was Noah's and his families salvation.  Because not only were they saved from physical death at this time, they were saved from a spiritual death too.
It is my belief that had Noah not obeyed God he and his family would have died and went to hell along with all the other souls on earth at the time.
I bring all this word from the Bible forth in order to say that the Ark of today is Jesus Christ, and only through him can we be saved.  Just as the Ark provided Noah and his family their salvation, Jesus Christ the Son of God will provide our salvation today.  The price is already paid.  All we must do is repent of our sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be saved.  I'm sure that in the day of Noah when it began to rain there were many souls that begged to get on the Ark, but at this time it was too late.  And today if we wait until death closes our eyes it is also too late to get on board
the Ark of Jesus Christ.  We then die and are spiritually separated from God forever.
Thousands of years later a baby was born of the Virgin Mary in the City of David, which is Bethlehem, and his name was Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  The Bible tells us that at the age of thirty he began his ministry.
In the book of Isaiah 53:5 the Bible tells us: but he was wounded for our transgressions (or our sins).  He was bruised for our iniquities (or our sins).
The chastisement of our peace was upon him (meaning he bore our sins upon himself) and with his stripes we are
healed (a spiritual healing, not physical).  Christ did not go to the Cross to heal us physically.  All of the scriptures listed in the above paragraphs tell us that Christ healed people
before going to the Cross.
The Bible tells us in the four gospel's, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John how Christ, many times performed the miracle of healing.
In Matthew 8:1-3 Jesus healed a leper; Matthew 9:18-22 he healed the woman with the issue of blood; Matthew 9:27-30 he healed two blind men; Matthew 9:35 he healed every sickness and every disease among the people.  The Bible tells us in Matthew 15:29-32 he healed the multitudes.
It is recorded in the Bible in Matthew 29:34 that he healed two blind men and here we see that not only did the two men receive their physical sight,
but they also received their spiritual sight as they followed Jesus.  So, we see from these scriptures that Jesus healed many many people during the
time that he walked among men on earth.
Christ returned to man when he was beaten and hung on the Cross what Adam took from man through his disobedience in the Garden of Eden.
Adam took a spiritual relationship with God away.  We are healed spiritually when we except Jesus Christ as our Savior (our salvation) and he
raises us from the dead because we were dead spiritually in our sins and he gives us the free gift of eternal life.
Christ is our high priest (Hebrews 9:11-15) he is our mediator it is through him that we have a spiritual relationship with God.  Only through Christ
can we reach God.  Man was healed spiritually.
Many times Christian people pray so hard for a loved one or a friend to be healed and when they are not so many different things go through their mind.  Examples are: satan tries to deceive you and make you think that God didn't hear your prayer, or that God does not care.
Even that my faith must be weak; or the person that you were praying for must have done something in his past life that he cannot be forgiven,
and none is this is true.
In (Hebrews 9:27) the Bible says: and as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgement...  We all have an appointment with death
no matter how we live, or what we do we are going to die.  Sometimes no matter how much we pray for someone to be healed it is just his or her
appointed time to go be with the Lord.   And sometimes through physical death man suffers but Christ also suffered we have no promise that we won't suffer.  Thanks be to God if we know Jesus Christ as our Savior we have the promise of eternal life, thank God that one day we can live with him forever. If a loved one or a friend is ready to go home and be with the Lord we should rejoice in that promise of knowing that we can some time see
them again.  Praise God!
Just a couple months ago I had a brother-in-law to die he was my wife's brother his name was Dave Underwood.  We all loved Dave very much
especially  his wife and family and we prayed for Dave every day, and for awhile I believe that Dave would be healed.  But two days before he went
to be with the Lord I was showed that Dave was not going to be healed then I only asked God to take care of the family. I believe that God has showed them too, the night Dave's sick body died his soul went home to be with the Lord.  In (2 Corinthians 5:6-9) the word says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  We knew that Dave was absent from his body but he was present with the Lord.  Thank God for that and Dave was spiritually healed.  And he will never be separated from God, rejoice in that. We can't ask for any more.
My word to Dave's family press on, look ahead, carry the torch (so to speak) and stay forever true to the Lord and one day we too
will be reunited with Dave and present with the Lord.
God Bless
