. Bayou Boeuf is  to rear of this tiny home on high pillars. I'll bet it was raised to keep it dry.The Bouef was capable of flooding and this is in some areas.
This fine antique bridge crosses Bayou Boeuf souh of Bunkie. It connects the "big house" to US. 71. It'sroof projected above the trees. If I had had the nerve, a trip to the bridge would have given up its image. I can only imagine. The roof was red tile, I think. Was it Spanish? No one thinks about the Spanish influence in LA. The whole place bleonged to them for a while.
Here is pictured an old soldier of the cotton field wars. It is a one row picker. He's parked, tires going flat. It was on the gravel road near the bridge, right off 71. Thanks Marion for the correction. I had said "sugarcane". I guess because it was red. Duh.
