Married a Cop

I married a man so gentle and sweet
he rescued a kitten from dangerous streets

he climbed a tree to get my bird
and many more times his rescues occured

but than one day he sat me down
I noticed he wore a heavy frown

"Love , help me ,I have a dream
to be a policeman " I wanted to scream

But I quickly saw the struggle inside
and knew it all hinged on if I complied

So I swallowed my fears put on a smile
and said "For you I'll walk that extra mile"

Its been many years since that fateful day
but by his side I'll forever stay

Because the man in blue is my love so sweet
to protect and serve those deadly streets
