DARKROOM Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........
Hot buttered Christ, do those Aussies know how to make some boring fucking thrillers. This one's even got a trailer for the dullest movie I've ever seen, the Aussie-made Next of Kin, at the beginning. That should have been enough omen for me.
A disturbed young amateur photographer finds out that his dad's shagging one of his co-workers, so he sets out to woo her away from him while he stalks them and takes their picture. Presumably, he's spiralling into madness the whole time, like we would notice or care.
The only thing saving this from complete, Next Of Kin-style crapitude is Anna Maria Monticelli, who plays the woman caught between the father and son. She displays some charm and grace where the film itself has none.
Jesus, was this ever boring! And contrary to what the IMDb will tell you, Helen Hunt is nowhere to be seen.
Avoid, as if it were an ebola-tainted cheeseburger with extra rat. |
