. He said defeatedly as they stood back to back in the access shaft.
“I’m not”
. She replied, changing the chakan oil carterage on her gun.
He leaned his head back against hers.
“Why did you come?”
“The usual reason’s.”
He laughed, “Those being?”
“You were right about Scorpius,” she paused and then held herself taller “and I love you.”
Footsteps were heard from both directions.
He reached backwards and laced his fingers briefly with hers, the contact giving him strength.
“We’re not going to die today. You know that don’t you?”
Her unseen smile was his answer.
