John snapped the gun back into its holster and turned slowly towards his companion. She was standing there with a blank look on her face, waiting for orders. "They're expecting two cold, heartless peacekeepers in there." Aeryn nodded curtly. "What do you want me to do?" John sighed. "What you've been doing. That'll work fine." He pushed the door open and walked in.

"Just pull it out!" Aeryn gave her companion an icy stare before yanking on the strand of red hair. The two of them collapsed in a heap on the floor. Jool got up but didn't leave. "We're not going to talk about John. Go away." Aeryn said the words without ever looking up. Jool sighed. "You can't shut him out forever Aeryn." The ex-peacekeeper shook her head. "You have no idea what it's like to see the person you've lost, every day, around every corner." Jool nodded. "I'll grant you that. But I know someone who does."

Aeryn leaned over John's sleeping form and called out the hybrid's name. "Scorpius, are you in there?"

His face came to life though the rest remained still. "Officer Sun? How did you-?" She shushed him. "I'm going to ask you a question and you will tell me the truth." Harvey nodded. He liked this game. "I have no reason to lie."

He waited for her to continue. "Is he really the same? Not a copy?" He had to fight to suppress a smile. Harvey was in control now.
