Brief history of Qatar Philatelic Club:
The Qatar Philatelic Club was
established on December 1995. The main head quarter is locate in Doha city,
Al Sad steet, opposite to Tivoli furniture showroom. The club plans to develop
the Youth’s interest in stamps from a social and cultural aspect. This shall
be achieved through the following:
- Assist stamp collectors in Qatar to develop their
hobby and facilitate cooperation amongst them.
- Exhibit Qatar’s development and progress through
its stamp and postal history.
- Develop collection friendship between stamp
collectors in Qatar and those in Arab and foreign countries.
- Consider technical, historical, scientific and
cultural aspects associated with stamp collecting to acquaint with
Qatar’s past and present.
- Encourage collector’s to plan, organize and conduct
seminars, lectures and fairs. And publish the findings and activities to
club members.
- Represent the state of Qatar in specialized fairs
whereas inside or outside the country cooperating with all rules and
regulations.
- Strengthen friendship ties between the club and
other similar institutions internationally through information and
expertise.
- Issue periodicals related to postal activity.
