Brief History of SAPS:

 

The Saudi Arabian Philatelic Society established in 1965 under the sponsor of “Headquarter of Youth Welfare”. Head Office in Makkah and Branches are in Jeddah and Riyadh. Active member of FIAP since 1980.

 

Objects of the Society is to collect all possible information respecting postage stamps, the prevention of forgeries, the facilitating and spreading of the knowledge of philately and the facilitating the acquisition and exchange of postage stamp among the members and assist members to obtain Arabian Countries stamps and philatelic accessories.

 

Presently have 4000 members of 39 national in the Kingdom and outside also.

Society holding monthly meeting and research and study seminars in head office “Makkah) and branches.

Organize exhibitions in schools, institute, and social clubs inside the Kingdom and other Arabian countries.

Attend seminars, conferences at international philatelic exhibitions.

Encourage members to participate in international exhibitions many philatelists participated in various international exhibitions and won large gold, gold, vermeil medals and in youth category also won bronze, silver and large silver medals.
