Extract from "DYING FOR LOVE"
...Once I did get a splendid opportunity and devoured whole of my classmate's tiffin, while he was away and I could remember well that for the act, I was severely punished. But what to do? That food had mother's love, which I longed for.

And when I was studying in class I, I had learned slapping, kicking and even fisting. During examinations, I had nothing to worry as the boy or girl sitting nearest to me should have to come prepared, or he had the skillful exertions of my hands and legs. Although I had become hardy, I never attacked the girls. I treated them in a different way. I do remember quite well that once in an examination, a girl didn't learn history well and I had to tear her history book to pieces and had to show my fist to her brother to make him never allow his sister to complain. Her brother did all well, but in the next examination, when she failed, all became clear to her parents and my principal too. The principal wrote a letter and made a call to my parents, but there wasn't any positive action from them except some easily bearable reproachfull words. I kept quite for a few days and retuned back to business again. Avijit and Rana soon became my hands. They executed many of my wills within their powers....


Extract from "ENVY'S CHOICE"
...My heart was smaller than his, when my mother named me Prem. Sanjay was jeolous of that name too. He puzzled over why his mother didn't give him  that name. The commanding envy waiting for an opportunity responded thereupon, she loved me more and ever since he seemed to be angry with his mother. It is only envy, he failed to understand, that has no blood. No blood to shed, nor any food to be satisfied. It has a wide mouth which never slams if you entertain it with the thing it wants.

But my father looked after Sanjay better. Mr Chopra never liked me at first. Never before that incident, which turned him towards me.

Two teeth appeared and soon I learned to crush biscuits, improving at every attempt. Then mastered the way of chewing things, playing with things. With my father's shoes once, which irritated him who didn't yet have any love for me. He wanted to wear them, but I was not willing to let him have them. I threw his shoes in different directions, forcing a scorpion to come into view, while one of the twins was flying in the air. Mr. Chopra saw it. so did his wife. Sanjay also couldn't escape the scene. After killing it, Mr. Chopra, for the first time in his life, took me in his hands and loved me, forgetting it was already his time to leave for his office. That envious soul, Sanjay, reminded him, 'Papa, it's already office-time.'...
