SERVES

Anatomy of a Serve   See the Training Module also

There are three basic parts to every Serve

1.  Checking the rim of the goblet or plate for flaws serving from a nadu position (tower if serving a Mistress or still in training silks).  Check the vessel visually first, then press the vessel to bare flesh to make sure there are no flaws to harm the One being served.  Some of the places most used are.. belly, wrist, breast (over the heart)

2.  Kissing the side of the goblet or plate

3.  Everything else is really personal style. However, there are many things you can do to make your serve enticing.

Your posts

1. Keep  posts to three to five lines. Anything longer than that makes it difficult to read .  You want the one you are serving to be able to follow everything you do,  it's a bit overwhelming to find your screen suddenly filled with one post. Many  will not bother to read it all, others will just scan it quickly. However, a three to five line post is likely to be read carefully.

2. Posts should be somewhere between five and 10. Most Frees are not going to like having to wait for an hour between the time they ask for a drink and the time they actually get their drink.  You want your post to be sensuous, but  you also want to actually get the food or drink to the Free so that, hopefully, you can move on to other activities.

3. As you get to know the camp and its members better, you'll become familiar with the individual preferences of the Frees. Some like quick serves, others prefer long drawn-out serves. It is helpful if you can keep note of  a Free's preferences.

Know your surroundings

It's  nice to post some details of getting to the servery. For example ~weaving  in and out among the furs as she saunters across the camp, the light of the fire reflecting off her silken skin as she moves past the spar pit and the fires toward the servery~

Before you head to the servery

1.  As soon as you are asked to serve, acknowledge the serve and then ask any questions you need in order to complete your serve. As you become more familiar with the Frees in camp, it is nice to remember what They usually order ...always double check.  (Ubar generally has chilled paga, you could ask.. chilled paga Master?)

2.  Try to do a mental checklist of everything you need to know before you head to the servery so you do not have to shout across camp to ask the Free. Below are some things you may need to ask:

kalana -- is red  and served in a goblet, some Free may prefer it served "room temperature" Others may prefer "chilled"

ta-wyne -- usually served chilled.

paga -- ask if they want it warm or cold.  Warm paga can be found in a bota hanging over the hearth in the servery

blackwyne -- sugars? if the Free asks for blackwine first slave, perhaps ask how much sugar, bosk milk or cream (dried or fresh)? (Note: if the Free orders the blackwyne second slave, that means serve it black)

bazi tea -- ask if they wish the traditional serve  detailed elsewhere in these pages -- some, however, prefer one cup, sweetened or not, with bosk milk or not -- so ask and make sure you know what they want

meats (bosk, tabuk, etc.) -- ask if you may use a knife to slice it

fruits (such as larma, topsit, etc.) -- ask if you may use a knife to slice it

breads -- ask if you may use a knife to slice it

Please Note: It is illegal for any slave to pick up anything resembling a weapon so if you need to cut something make sure you ask permission.  Cutting shells are available in the servery.

In the servery

1.  All the Free has to go on is your description. Get to know the drinks and foods so you can describe them. For example,  kalana is a deep ruby red color, a larma's juices will run out when you cut it, etc. Be descriptive in all you're doing.

2.   Second, use the right container for whatever you are serving. Check the Drinks list so that you know which is correct.

Kalana is served in a footed goblet, much like an urth wine glass -- the glasses come in an array of colors and most have something painted or etched in the side or they are emblazoned with jewels --describe it for the Free
paga is traditionally served in a three-footed bowl -- again the colors vary as does the design on the side

blackwyne is usually served in a mug -- if they want sugar, milk, etc., put it all on a tray along with a small pot of the blackwyne and prepare it at the Free's feet -- if they want it black, you can just fill the mug and carry that over

bazi tea -- you'll need a tray to put the three small cups on, along with any sugars/milk they want and add a small pot of the tea, prepare it at the Free's feet

food and drink -- be practical, you'll need a tray to carry it all -- don't forget to add eating utensils such as bone spoons, etc. and a rep-cloth napkin -- a nice touch is to add a flower and vase to the tray

The serve
While the point of the serve may seem to be to get the food or drink to the Free. The real point is to be sensual.

1.  You've been asked to serve, you've acknowledged the request and you've asked everything you need to know to do a good serve. You've made your way across the camp, describing as you go.

2.  Next, you prepare whatever is requested. Always check the rim of the goblet, bowl, plate, etc. Make sure it is perfectly smooth. Now, you could run your finger around the rim, but that isn't very sensuous. Remember, what you are trying to do is entice the Free, so use a sensitive body part to check the rim.

3.  Next, make sure the goblet, etc., is clean. Some may polish it with a tress of their hair (not appreciated by some Free), others will polish it with a clean rep cloth from the bench. However you do it, try to make it enticing.

4.  Once you've got everything ready, carry it to the Free. All things should be carried above your head -- this stretches out your body, lifts your breasts, lets them bounce, etc. Describe your body as you walk across the camp, the sway of your hips, the jiggle of your breasts, the way your chatka rides up, your hair bouncing off your back, etc. This is your moment to shine, take advantage of it.

5.  After you get to the Free, you are to kneel in nadu (or tower if it is a Mistress you are serving). Do not just type "kneels" or any variation of that. Describe the kneel fully.  Make your posts sensual

6. Next, kiss the goblet/plate, etc. This kiss is to show your servitude and it's nice to describe it that way. At no time should the slaves lips touch where the Master/Mistress lips will touch.  (The exception to this may be that a personally owned slave is told to do otherwise by their Owner.)

7.  Finally, hold whatever it is you're offering up to the Free. Depending on how well you know the Free, you might "accidentally" brush against their legs with your breasts, etc., but don't do this unless you know it's welcomed. Some will post something nice and subservient, like *a girl hopes Master enjoys the kalana and that her serve was worthy*
Slave Pages
Problems & Solutions

OK, you're midway through the serve and suddenly the Free posts that they're taking the wine, paga, whatever. What do you do? Act as though you actually completed the serve (unless it's someone you know very well, in which case you can make a joke of it) and post something along the lines that you hope they enjoy it.

You've offered the drink but the Free doesn't take it. What do you do? Post something like *remaining motionless, holding the drink in offering*. If you still don't get an answer and think that the Free may been booted, explain to a camp Free what you think has happened and ask if you may leave the drink/food at the furs in case the Free returns. If it's obvious the Free is in the room and just ignoring you, your only recourse is to periodically post things about holding the drink up in offering until the Free takes it.

You completed your serve, the Free takes the drink, but doesn't release you. What do you do?  Wait a couple of minutes to see if the Free remembers to release you. If the Free doesn't, then post something like: *may a girl be of further service or should she return to the furs, Master?*
When to Serve..
A slave may beg to serve or simply ask to serve.  The expectation is that she/he will move to the Free Persons feet and kneel suitably to do so... no shouting from the serving furs and no general requests as in ~Does Anyone need anything.....~
Generally speaking a personally owned slave should offer to their Owner first and then follow the greeting order.  In the case of camp slaves.. Ubar first of course.  Do take notice of who has already been served and who has not.
