GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE HOMESTONE OF LARA
On 10-1-02 the Homestone of the City that would become LARA was set into the ground. It was set there by 2 travel weary warriors and one lone kajira. Since that day many have come, many have gone, but all still remember the name LARA.
The Homestone of Lara is the oldest and largest gorean city in excite chat. Lara is also proud to entertain visiters from all over Gor including the realms of Palace chat and Halsoft. If you do not yet have excite chat a link lower on this page will take you to where you can download the latest vertion. All visiters are welcome within it's walls. One of the goals of Lara is to educate and provide information to anyone interested in the Gorean ways. Lara does not claim to be perfect, as there are many different ideas of the John Norman books. There are no such things as the perfect gorean cities, anyone making such a claim should be suspect in why they make that claim.
Lara does its best to provide a good safe area for all. The people of Lara also love to learn. If you are gorean and have ideas you would like to share we would like to hear them. If you are not gorean but have an interest in learning, Lara is a good place to sit, watch, and ask questions.
If a question is asked that we dont know, we will do our best to find the answer for you. Lara currently has close to 30 registered members. Many of them roam the lands, and should be easy to find. All will be happy to direct and guide you to the Gates of Lara to begin your journey. The current list of members is posted for all to see on the main gates of lara. A link below will take you there.
Lara refuses to recognise players. If you seek to play games know you will not be welcome nor entertained by the good people of Lara. Players are defined as thoes with no honor and only use the honor and laws of Gor when it suits their needs. People such as these should be ignored and all they do treated as if it never happened. It the only way the heart and honor of Gor will thrive and grow in Excite. Wind and Steel fellow Goreans. Honor above all.
Lara is located at the junction of the Vosk and Olni rivers. It is of major strategic importance as it is the gateway between the Vosk River towns and the Confederation. It could potentially stop all shipping between the two groups. One inn, in Lara, is the inn of Strobius. It is a large, stout inn though not a very good one.
Since the formation of the Confederation, piracy on the Olni is now largely nonexistent. This is due in large part to Lara as they are able to blockade pirate ships from being able to safely escape to the Vosk. |
